Narrative:

Gulfstream 4 was being repositioned from ZZZ to ZZZ2 when climbing through FL260; the right engine registered an exceedence. Control could not be regulated with the throttle lever so the engine was shut down. ATC was advised and return routing to ZZZ was issued. Communications with our office were established as well with discussion of when to return. It was decided that the longer runway at ZZZ would be best. Return flight was routine with a single engine landing.

Title: A GIV EXPERIENCED AN ENGINE FAILURE IN CLIMB. THE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO THE DEP ARPT.

Narrative: GULFSTREAM 4 WAS BEING REPOSITIONED FROM ZZZ TO ZZZ2 WHEN CLBING THROUGH FL260; THE R ENG REGISTERED AN EXCEEDENCE. CTL COULD NOT BE REGULATED WITH THE THROTTLE LEVER SO THE ENG WAS SHUT DOWN. ATC WAS ADVISED AND RETURN ROUTING TO ZZZ WAS ISSUED. COMS WITH OUR OFFICE WERE ESTABLISHED AS WELL WITH DISCUSSION OF WHEN TO RETURN. IT WAS DECIDED THAT THE LONGER RWY AT ZZZ WOULD BE BEST. RETURN FLT WAS ROUTINE WITH A SINGLE ENG LNDG.
