Narrative:
While climbing through approximately FL300 to a cruising altitude of FL330; the 'tail comp temperature hi' warning light illuminated. I was the PF so the captain accomplished the red box items while I requested a leveloff at our present altitude. The captain requested a lower altitude and continued with the checklist. With the left throttle at idle and the left pack off (as per the checklist); we continued a slow descent below FL240 and the light went out after about 2 mins. The captain talked with dispatch and we elected to continue to our destination as per the QRH. Within 10 mins; the light illuminated again. The captain declared an emergency and we requested an immediate descent for a diversion to ZZZ. We accomplished an overweight landing (132200 pounds) at ZZZ that was otherwise uneventful. It was later discovered that a coupling in the tail compartment was loose.
