Narrative:

During the departure off of runway 24 at teb; the PF did not comply with the altitude schedule published for the teb 5 departure. He exceeded the 1500 ft MSL altitude restr prior to reaching the teb 4.5 DME point on the departure. No collision hazard resulted and ATC did not question me about missed altitude assignments. The PF's inexperience and over-confidence were directly responsible for this incident. Despite my pre-departure briefing of the departure procedure; the PF ignored or was confused about my altitude call-outs during the initial climb. It was evident to me after the fact he did not understand the procedure. Corrective action has been taken. I filed and signed the IFR flight plan as the PIC and was the company assigned PIC as well; although I was not flying the aircraft. In the future a more thorough pre-departure briefing will be conducted with this pilot as well as ensuring he knows exactly what is expected of him during any and all future procedures.supplemental information from acn 749640: non flying pilot selected 2000 ft in altitude alerter. Passing 1600 ft we were cleared to 2000 ft. I should have leveled at 1500 ft. Heavy workload and flying to the 2000 ft was the problem. No conflict and truly I'm not sure what altitude I was at. I climb to 1500 ft and made the required right turn to 280 degrees.
