Narrative:
While departing from clt our runway was changed to the opposite side of the field due to a wind change. My first officer was new to the aircraft with less than 50 hours and this was our second flight together. The first officer did not program the FMS for the change in runways and the SID was not flown accordingly. The SID required a heading change after takeoff and was thus not performed prompting a question from the clt tower regarding our route and SID. To avoid this next time I will make sure in my pre-departure brief that any runway changes will be addressed by both crew members and the FMS will be programmed and check by both crew members prior to departure.

Title: FAILURE TO REPROGRAM REVISED TKOF RWY INTO FMS RESULTS IN SID TRACK DEV AFTER TKOF.
Narrative: WHILE DEPARTING FROM CLT OUR RWY WAS CHANGED TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE FIELD DUE TO A WIND CHANGE. MY FO WAS NEW TO THE ACFT WITH LESS THAN 50 HRS AND THIS WAS OUR SECOND FLT TOGETHER. THE FO DID NOT PROGRAM THE FMS FOR THE CHANGE IN RWYS AND THE SID WAS NOT FLOWN ACCORDINGLY. THE SID REQUIRED A HDG CHANGE AFTER TKOF AND WAS THUS NOT PERFORMED PROMPTING A QUESTION FROM THE CLT TWR REGARDING OUR RTE AND SID. TO AVOID THIS NEXT TIME I WILL MAKE SURE IN MY PRE-DEP BRIEF THAT ANY RWY CHANGES WILL BE ADDRESSED BY BOTH CREW MEMBERS AND THE FMS WILL BE PROGRAMMED AND CHK BY BOTH CREW MEMBERS PRIOR TO DEP.
