Narrative:
On flight to las; I did a successful approach and landing to runway 1L. While taxiing on taxiway foxtrot; I turned too early off on taxiway november and went into a shallow drainage ditch. No damage to aircraft. Aircraft was towed out successfully. I've been told this has happened before because the drainage area was right adjacent to the taxiway. No room for error.callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated that the drainage ditch is located adjacent to and south of taxiway november between taxiways 'F' and 'H.' he was making his way to the general aviation ramp during hours of darkness. What he thought was a gradual asphalt exit onto taxiway 'north' was actually the shoulder of a shallow drainage ditch. He was informed by ground personnel that similar excursions have taken place in the same location.

Title: AN SMA PLT MISTAKENLY TAXIED INTO SHALLOW ASPHALT DRAINAGE DITCH AFTER LNDG AT LAS.
Narrative: ON FLT TO LAS; I DID A SUCCESSFUL APCH AND LNDG TO RWY 1L. WHILE TAXIING ON TXWY FOXTROT; I TURNED TOO EARLY OFF ON TXWY NOVEMBER AND WENT INTO A SHALLOW DRAINAGE DITCH. NO DAMAGE TO ACFT. ACFT WAS TOWED OUT SUCCESSFULLY. I'VE BEEN TOLD THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE BECAUSE THE DRAINAGE AREA WAS RIGHT ADJACENT TO THE TXWY. NO ROOM FOR ERROR.CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: REPORTER STATED THAT THE DRAINAGE DITCH IS LOCATED ADJACENT TO AND SOUTH OF TAXIWAY NOVEMBER BETWEEN TAXIWAYS 'F' AND 'H.' HE WAS MAKING HIS WAY TO THE GENERAL AVIATION RAMP DURING HOURS OF DARKNESS. WHAT HE THOUGHT WAS A GRADUAL ASPHALT EXIT ONTO TAXIWAY 'N' WAS ACTUALLY THE SHOULDER OF A SHALLOW DRAINAGE DITCH. HE WAS INFORMED BY GROUND PERSONNEL THAT SIMILAR EXCURSIONS HAVE TAKEN PLACE IN THE SAME LOCATION.
