Narrative:
Lost green hydraulic fluid in cruise just prior to descent into destination. Notified ATC and dispatch; ran the ECAM; and performed QRH and pilot handbook follow-up. Approach declared an emergency for us after we notified them the nosewheel steering was inoperative and we would need to be towed off the longest runway. Landed and stopped without incident; shut down both engines after stopping; crash fire rescue equipment inspected and then we were towed to the gate. Everyone did a great job; and all worked out as hoped for a non normal situationuation.
