Narrative:
During postflt; the first officer noticed paint run on the left S3 port. The aircraft has flown 18 flts since being painted before the discrepancy was found. Paint on the S3 ports are not normal. Bbd thd (bombardier technical help desk) was contacted and an action to remove the paint from the S3 port was utilized following srm guidelines that the thd provided. The aircraft was then released for service. More thorough inspections of critical areas after painting of the aircraft. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated this is the standby static port approximately one foot fwd of the main cabin fwd left entry door. This aircraft flew 18 flights prior to the first officer noticing the paint overrun. The paint work was contracted out. His company does have company representatives at the paint facility overseeing the paint process and final check. There is a specific cleaning procedure for the S-1 and S-2 static ports; but none for the S-3 static port which is similar. Reporter also states; bombardier's tech help desk referred maintenance to the structural repair manual (srm) using the external aircraft cleaning procedure for the removal of the paint overrun on all pitot and static ports.
