Narrative:
I was notified by a lead technician in ZZZ that I had installed ng 700/800/900 nose tires (left and right) on aircraft X. The PIREP was nosewheel shimmy and I found flat spots on both tires. I was informed that a crew member noticed the incorrect nose tires on a preflight walkaround from the stenciled 700/800/900 on the side of the tires. I removed the tires from the tire bin marked 300/500 nose tires. The lighting on the hard stand was not working that night and the stencils on the side of the tires were not easily seen. I will verify correct tires are being installed; and also when tires are received to place them in correct bins which will be helpful. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated although the -700/800/900 tires are beefier; according to what others have told him; they do not affect the tires' entry and exiting from the nose well during landing gear operation. He does not know if there are more plies on the next gen tires compared to the -300/500 tires. No bias ply tires are used at his location.

Narrative: I WAS NOTIFIED BY A LEAD TECHNICIAN IN ZZZ THAT I HAD INSTALLED NG 700/800/900 NOSE TIRES (L AND R) ON ACFT X. THE PIREP WAS NOSEWHEEL SHIMMY AND I FOUND FLAT SPOTS ON BOTH TIRES. I WAS INFORMED THAT A CREW MEMBER NOTICED THE INCORRECT NOSE TIRES ON A PREFLT WALKAROUND FROM THE STENCILED 700/800/900 ON THE SIDE OF THE TIRES. I REMOVED THE TIRES FROM THE TIRE BIN MARKED 300/500 NOSE TIRES. THE LIGHTING ON THE HARD STAND WAS NOT WORKING THAT NIGHT AND THE STENCILS ON THE SIDE OF THE TIRES WERE NOT EASILY SEEN. I WILL VERIFY CORRECT TIRES ARE BEING INSTALLED; AND ALSO WHEN TIRES ARE RECEIVED TO PLACE THEM IN CORRECT BINS WHICH WILL BE HELPFUL. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH REPORTER REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: REPORTER STATED ALTHOUGH THE -700/800/900 TIRES ARE BEEFIER; ACCORDING TO WHAT OTHERS HAVE TOLD HIM; THEY DO NOT AFFECT THE TIRES' ENTRY AND EXITING FROM THE NOSE WELL DURING LANDING GEAR OPERATION. HE DOES NOT KNOW IF THERE ARE MORE PLIES ON THE NEXT GEN TIRES COMPARED TO THE -300/500 TIRES. NO BIAS PLY TIRES ARE USED AT HIS LOCATION.
