Narrative:

Over the past 2 months the small tower voice system (stvs) at the cabin attendant radar position (cr); has been intermittently failing. Local maintenance has worked on the system each time and gets it up and running; which later fails sometimes within hours of being returned to service. This cycle continues on and off and these unexpected failures are becoming all too common. The continuous failures put the flying public; pilots and controllers at risk and may lead to a major accident. Solution: the communication system needs to be permanently fixed as soon as possible or a more reliable system needs to be installed at far ATCT.
