Narrative:
We had just been issued a turn towards smf while departing oak for our destination. I noticed several bright green flashes on the window frames. I also noticed the circuit breaker panel behind the captain light up with green light. I then noticed the source of illumination was from the oakland hills about 12 O'clock position and about 3 mi. The laser continued to flash us for about 1-2 mins. I carefully peeked out to try to locate it but not expose myself to too much of the illumination. When we were directly over the area it was coming from; I noted that it was 7 DME from oak and we reported it to ATC; norcal departure. I made a note of the 350 degree radial but I think I may have noted it wrong. Regardless; it was coming from the oakland hills at 7 DME. Once we were directly over it; it was no longer an issue.
