Narrative:
Reported for flight and found no required alternate on release. I called to amend release to add alternate and was given hou and tnkr was reduced to 610 from 1254 and given 644 for alternate. En route we were given a reroute and I ACARS'ed dispatch the new route. I was given a new min fuel and an ok to proceed. Our fuel level was getting lower and the projected fuel load at landing on the FMS showed 2500 pounds. During the flight I constantly asked ATC if there are any delays going in to iah and was told no delays and at 3000 pounds I declared min fuel with ATC. We landed with 2560 pounds on board. Dispatch should have had an alternate on the release and I believe we were given incorrect min fuel from dispatch on our reroute.callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter indicated that his request for an alternate was granted; but the alternate fuel was merely taken out of his tanker; or contingency fuel; so the fuel on board remained the same. The reporter stated that the company recently informed the pilots that it is carefully monitoring fuel loads and it reiterated the fuel remaining figure for flight crews to declare minimum and emergency fuel. The reporter indicated that he diverted to an alternate the previous week when he was no longer able to remain in the holding pattern waiting for an approach clearance.

Title: ERJ 170 FLT WAS GIVEN REROUTE AND ARRIVED AT DEST WITH MIN FUEL.
Narrative: REPORTED FOR FLT AND FOUND NO REQUIRED ALTERNATE ON RELEASE. I CALLED TO AMEND RELEASE TO ADD ALTERNATE AND WAS GIVEN HOU AND TNKR WAS REDUCED TO 610 FROM 1254 AND GIVEN 644 FOR ALTERNATE. ENRTE WE WERE GIVEN A REROUTE AND I ACARS'ED DISPATCH THE NEW RTE. I WAS GIVEN A NEW MIN FUEL AND AN OK TO PROCEED. OUR FUEL LEVEL WAS GETTING LOWER AND THE PROJECTED FUEL LOAD AT LANDING ON THE FMS SHOWED 2500 LBS. DURING THE FLT I CONSTANTLY ASKED ATC IF THERE ARE ANY DELAYS GOING IN TO IAH AND WAS TOLD NO DELAYS AND AT 3000 LBS I DECLARED MIN FUEL WITH ATC. WE LANDED WITH 2560 LBS ON BOARD. DISPATCH SHOULD HAVE HAD AN ALTERNATE ON THE RELEASE AND I BELIEVE WE WERE GIVEN INCORRECT MIN FUEL FROM DISPATCH ON OUR REROUTE.CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE REPORTER INDICATED THAT HIS REQUEST FOR AN ALTERNATE WAS GRANTED; BUT THE ALTERNATE FUEL WAS MERELY TAKEN OUT OF HIS TANKER; OR CONTINGENCY FUEL; SO THE FUEL ON BOARD REMAINED THE SAME. THE REPORTER STATED THAT THE COMPANY RECENTLY INFORMED THE PLTS THAT IT IS CAREFULLY MONITORING FUEL LOADS AND IT REITERATED THE FUEL REMAINING FIGURE FOR FLT CREWS TO DECLARE MINIMUM AND EMER FUEL. THE REPORTER INDICATED THAT HE DIVERTED TO AN ALTERNATE THE PREVIOUS WEEK WHEN HE WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO REMAIN IN THE HOLDING PATTERN WAITING FOR AN APCH CLRNC.
