Narrative:

I was the first officer for flight to mdst. When we intercepted the localizer for runway 11 at 12 DME; we descended from 4000 ft to 2500 ft. We told mdst tower that we were established on final and that we had the runway in sight. At 9 DME; we lost our DME indications for a couple of seconds. When the DME came it was indicating 12 DME. At that point tower clears us for the visual approach for runway 11. We advised the tower about the DME. The tower said they were working on it. No NOTAMS are published. It is unknown why the event occurred. We cross checked the DME with the GPS; and we advised the tower. Please publish all NAVAID NOTAMS.
