Narrative:

I had picked up my IFR clearance; then contacted ground control; 'taxi to runway 12R via taxiway G; monitor tower.' I was taxiing on taxiway G; coming up to hold short line. When I went to brake; my seat slid back and the airplane continued rolling. As I hurriedly adjusted myself to brake; the aircraft had completely crossed hold short line before I could stop. I contacted tower and they (without saying anything about me crossing hold short line) cleared me for takeoff runway 12R with right turn to heading 230 degrees. (I wonder if they were aware of my infraction.) needless to say; I didn't say any more. And from now on; I am going to double-; triple-check that my seat is latched; locked; not going to move before I taxi.

Title: LIGHT TWIN CROSSES RWY HOLD SHORT LINE WHEN THE PLT'S SEAT MOVES AFT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO APPLY BRAKES.

WHEN I WENT TO BRAKE; MY SEAT SLID BACK AND THE AIRPLANE CONTINUED ROLLING. AS I HURRIEDLY ADJUSTED MYSELF TO BRAKE; THE ACFT HAD COMPLETELY CROSSED HOLD SHORT LINE BEFORE I COULD STOP. I CONTACTED TWR AND THEY (WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT ME XING HOLD SHORT LINE) CLRED ME FOR TKOF RWY 12R WITH R TURN TO HDG 230 DEGS. (I WONDER IF THEY WERE AWARE OF MY INFRACTION.) NEEDLESS TO SAY; I DIDN'T SAY ANY MORE. AND FROM NOW ON; I AM GOING TO DOUBLE-; TRIPLE-CHK THAT MY SEAT IS LATCHED; LOCKED; NOT GOING TO MOVE BEFORE I TAXI.
