Narrative:
I was doing touch-and-goes as a student pilot at uncontrolled field. I was taking off; plane began moving left of centerline towards the grass; ailerons were used incorrectly to 'steer' the aircraft back on centerline. I then pulled back sharply on the yoke to get the plane airborne. Plane dangerously slowed and stalled into grass. Instructor had taken the controls; pulled the power to idle; and braked straight ahead as best possible. Exhaust pipe struck a taxiway light and dented the exhaust pipe. Instructor regained control and taxied to the ramp. No other observed damage to the aircraft.
