Narrative:
Just after takeoff; the flight attendant called and said she smelled strong fumes in the back of the aircraft. I was the PNF. I told the captain to listen. He xferred control of the aircraft to me and after talking with the flight attendant we decided to return to ZZZ. We landed on runway 28L. The fire trucks followed us to the gate. We unloaded the passenger and talked with maintenance; switched airplanes; and continued to destination with a new airplane.
