Narrative:
Prior to taxi; in early morning darkness; the crew reviewed the taxi route to runway 17R on the airport diagram. Runway 17R includes an overrun on the approach end of the runway; and the taxiway continues past taxiway B; the entry point for the runway end; to the end of the overrun. During the taxi route review and brief prior to taxi; the crew failed to discern this difference and erroneously intended to taxi to the end of the overrun. After passing the entry taxiway for the runway end; the controller questioned the crew's intentions as to which runway the crew was taxiing to; runway 17R or runway 17L. Still not realizing they were taxiing to a runway overrun versus a runway end; the crew was initially confused. Upon realizing their error; the crew requested to continue on the taxiway past the runway 17R overrun to runway 17L. The controller cleared the crew to taxi to runway 17L but requested the crew to expedite due to landing traffic. At this point the crew allowed themselves to become rushed which directly led to the ensuing runway incursion. Sensing an obligation to redeem themselves for their error; and somewhat pressured by the aggravation and urgency evident in the controller's voice; the crew began rushing. This resulted in the crew anticipating the controller and mistakenly believing the flight had been cleared onto runway 17L. Consequently; the crew taxied onto runway 17L without clearance. The controller noted this error and cleared the crew for immediate takeoff. The only consolation in this incident is that the crew did finally exercise some situational awareness in checking the final approach path for traffic prior to entering the runway. At this time the traffic was observed and announced as being far enough out not to be a problem for what the crew had anticipated to be the controller's intention to depart for flight prior to the arrival. While recognizing the gravity of this situation; in the end the crew would not have taxied in front of a landing aircraft.

Title: A C560 TAXIED BEYOND A RWY END ONTO AN ADJACENT RWY DURING DARKNESS. ANXIOUS BECAUSE OF THE ERRORS; THEY ERRONEOUSLY TAXIED INTO POSITION ON THE RWY AND WERE CLRED FOR TKOF WITH TFC ON FINAL.
Narrative: PRIOR TO TAXI; IN EARLY MORNING DARKNESS; THE CREW REVIEWED THE TAXI RTE TO RWY 17R ON THE ARPT DIAGRAM. RWY 17R INCLUDES AN OVERRUN ON THE APCH END OF THE RWY; AND THE TXWY CONTINUES PAST TXWY B; THE ENTRY POINT FOR THE RWY END; TO THE END OF THE OVERRUN. DURING THE TAXI RTE REVIEW AND BRIEF PRIOR TO TAXI; THE CREW FAILED TO DISCERN THIS DIFFERENCE AND ERRONEOUSLY INTENDED TO TAXI TO THE END OF THE OVERRUN. AFTER PASSING THE ENTRY TXWY FOR THE RWY END; THE CTLR QUESTIONED THE CREW'S INTENTIONS AS TO WHICH RWY THE CREW WAS TAXIING TO; RWY 17R OR RWY 17L. STILL NOT REALIZING THEY WERE TAXIING TO A RWY OVERRUN VERSUS A RWY END; THE CREW WAS INITIALLY CONFUSED. UPON REALIZING THEIR ERROR; THE CREW REQUESTED TO CONTINUE ON THE TXWY PAST THE RWY 17R OVERRUN TO RWY 17L. THE CTLR CLRED THE CREW TO TAXI TO RWY 17L BUT REQUESTED THE CREW TO EXPEDITE DUE TO LNDG TFC. AT THIS POINT THE CREW ALLOWED THEMSELVES TO BECOME RUSHED WHICH DIRECTLY LED TO THE ENSUING RWY INCURSION. SENSING AN OBLIGATION TO REDEEM THEMSELVES FOR THEIR ERROR; AND SOMEWHAT PRESSURED BY THE AGGRAVATION AND URGENCY EVIDENT IN THE CTLR'S VOICE; THE CREW BEGAN RUSHING. THIS RESULTED IN THE CREW ANTICIPATING THE CTLR AND MISTAKENLY BELIEVING THE FLT HAD BEEN CLRED ONTO RWY 17L. CONSEQUENTLY; THE CREW TAXIED ONTO RWY 17L WITHOUT CLRNC. THE CTLR NOTED THIS ERROR AND CLRED THE CREW FOR IMMEDIATE TKOF. THE ONLY CONSOLATION IN THIS INCIDENT IS THAT THE CREW DID FINALLY EXERCISE SOME SITUATIONAL AWARENESS IN CHKING THE FINAL APCH PATH FOR TFC PRIOR TO ENTERING THE RWY. AT THIS TIME THE TFC WAS OBSERVED AND ANNOUNCED AS BEING FAR ENOUGH OUT NOT TO BE A PROB FOR WHAT THE CREW HAD ANTICIPATED TO BE THE CTLR'S INTENTION TO DEPART FOR FLT PRIOR TO THE ARR. WHILE RECOGNIZING THE GRAVITY OF THIS SITUATION; IN THE END THE CREW WOULD NOT HAVE TAXIED IN FRONT OF A LNDG ACFT.
