Narrative:
On approach; leading edge slats would not extend. Got slats fault ECAM. Recycled 5 times. Recycling did not fix the fault. Circled above the airport while we did the ECAM and QRH. Declared emergency with ATC and requested ILS to longest runway. Called maintenance on the radio. Notified flight attendants of problem and said we were doing a precautionary landing. Landed and taxied into the gate safely and uneventfully.

Title: A320 SLATS FAILED TO EXTEND ON APCH. ADDITIONAL ATTEMPTS TO EXTEND WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. FLT CREW DECLARED AN EMER AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
Narrative: ON APCH; LEADING EDGE SLATS WOULD NOT EXTEND. GOT SLATS FAULT ECAM. RECYCLED 5 TIMES. RECYCLING DID NOT FIX THE FAULT. CIRCLED ABOVE THE ARPT WHILE WE DID THE ECAM AND QRH. DECLARED EMER WITH ATC AND REQUESTED ILS TO LONGEST RWY. CALLED MAINT ON THE RADIO. NOTIFIED FLT ATTENDANTS OF PROB AND SAID WE WERE DOING A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG. LANDED AND TAXIED INTO THE GATE SAFELY AND UNEVENTFULLY.
