Narrative:

Passing 15000 ft on initial climb out from ZZZ; we received an APU fire warning. We had shut down the APU during taxi in accordance with the checklist. We leveled off; complied with the checklist; and returned to ZZZ. The fire light went out about 3 mins after we discharged the APU fire bottle; then came on again during recovery. We declared an emergency and coordination with our cabin crew to try and determine if there were any actual indications of fire. The APU egt appeared normal for a shutdown APU. This appears to have been a false indication.
