Narrative:
Waiting to land in ZZZ; captain called me and said the flaps weren't working. So captain declared an emergency landing into ZZZ. He told me to just do the brace position and make sure the cabin was set for landing. So flight attendants demonstrated the brace position and then we checked the cabin and made sure passenger understood what was going on and when to do the brace position. About 500 ft from landing; I yelled 'brace' and flight attendant #3 followed. We landed safely. The captain should have called an all call out of cockpit so all flight attendants could know at that time what was going on; so I wouldn't have to tell them again and waste time. We could just get together and communication and go over what the captain said. Passenger should be asked to remove all headsets for takeoff and landing in case we ever have to do any emergency stuff such as landing or takeoff.
