Narrative:
Pre departure clearance received shows our route and departure as loop 4 and the rest as filed on the release. Oshnn SID is between dashes. Confirmed our departure is loop 4 via the dispatch release. That is what the 01 routing is in the FMC. After takeoff; departure cleared us to a point on the oshnn departure. I informed him we are on the loop as filed. He berates us and company as the only ones who get this SID wrong all the time. New waypoint is entered and all goes well. There are 16 sids at lax. Only 1 has a curfew. Guess which one dispatch uses? The loop SID also states that the alternate curfew SID is the laxx. So no one is on the same page. There is no way anyone can commit to memory all the nuances of which is the proper procedure at all of our airports. Why does dispatch set us up for the verbal chastising by frustrated lax controllers? Pre departure clearance training was inadequate and since few of us have photographic memories; putting out clarification bulletins is a weak excuse for clean up training. The ACARS pre departure clearance format is also counterintuitive as compared to a manually received clearance. Get dispatch to do a proper job. Training by way of paper handouts and bulletins clarification is completely inadequate and a violation waiting to happen.

Title: FLT CREW MISUNDERSTANDS PDC; AND DEPARTS LAX USING WRONG SID PROC.
Narrative: PDC RECEIVED SHOWS OUR RTE AND DEP AS LOOP 4 AND THE REST AS FILED ON THE RELEASE. OSHNN SID IS BETWEEN DASHES. CONFIRMED OUR DEP IS LOOP 4 VIA THE DISPATCH RELEASE. THAT IS WHAT THE 01 ROUTING IS IN THE FMC. AFTER TAKEOFF; DEP CLEARED US TO A POINT ON THE OSHNN DEP. THERE IS NO WAY ANYONE CAN COMMIT TO MEMORY ALL THE NUANCES OF WHICH IS THE PROPER PROC AT ALL OF OUR ARPTS. WHY DOES DISPATCH SET US UP FOR THE VERBAL CHASTISING BY FRUSTRATED LAX CTLRS? PDC TRAINING WAS INADEQUATE AND SINCE FEW OF US HAVE PHOTOGRAPHIC MEMORIES; PUTTING OUT CLARIFICATION BULLETINS IS A WEAK EXCUSE FOR CLEAN UP TRAINING. THE ACARS PDC FORMAT IS ALSO COUNTERINTUITIVE AS COMPARED TO A MANUALLY RECEIVED CLRNC. GET DISPATCH TO DO A PROPER JOB. TRAINING BY WAY OF PAPER HANDOUTS AND BULLETINS CLARIFICATION IS COMPLETELY INADEQUATE AND A VIOLATION WAITING TO HAPPEN.
