Narrative:
During climb out of ZZZ; noticed left CSD oil outlet temperature in the yellow band. Accomplished the QRH procedure. APU was started as a precaution. Once level; the left CSD oil outlet temperature kept increasing to the red radial. Xferred the left electrical system to the APU. Shortly after this; APU shut down with an overspeed fault. Diverted to ZZZ1. Declared emergency due to overweight landing. Landing was uneventful at ZZZ1.

Title: AN MD80 FLT CREW EXPERIENCED HIGH CSD OIL TEMP ON CLIMB AND STARTED THE APU; WHICH SHUT DOWN WITH AN OVERSPEED FAULT. FLT CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND DIVERTED TO THE NEAREST SUITABLE ARPT.
Narrative: DURING CLB OUT OF ZZZ; NOTICED L CSD OIL OUTLET TEMP IN THE YELLOW BAND. ACCOMPLISHED THE QRH PROC. APU WAS STARTED AS A PRECAUTION. ONCE LEVEL; THE L CSD OIL OUTLET TEMP KEPT INCREASING TO THE RED RADIAL. XFERRED THE L ELECTRICAL SYS TO THE APU. SHORTLY AFTER THIS; APU SHUT DOWN WITH AN OVERSPEED FAULT. DIVERTED TO ZZZ1. DECLARED EMER DUE TO OVERWT LNDG. LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL AT ZZZ1.
