Narrative:
Taxiing in miami; ground control gave instructions to taxi via taxiway tango; quebec; and hold short of taxiway quebec 1. We turned out of the ramp onto taxiway tango; expecting to see a sign for taxiway quebec to our right very shortly. We did not see taxiway quebec initially; and continued on taxiway tango. While still on tango; we crossed runway 12; and; just after uniform; stopped to check location on chart and inquired with ground. They told us to hold position. We realized we had missed quebec taxiway. Ground control gave us a number to contact upon arriving at our destination. Then they gave us new instructions to taxi for departure. In subsequent conversation with miami traffic control; we learned that this type of occurrence has happened before and that controllers consider the area a hot spot for taxiing aircraft to become confused due the intersection of multiple txwys. It is not currently marked as a hot spot on our airport diagram.
