Narrative:
While working a combined radar position at milwaukee approach; I lost separation between air carrier X (an overflt) to chicago ord airport; and aircraft Y (a C411) inbound to waukegan (ugn) airport. I approved air carrier Y on a nonstandard routing to expedite the flight. This caused me to descend this aircraft early to expedite the climb of an aircraft departing mke. This action caused the aircraft to later be in close proximity to the other aircraft; aircraft Y. I have been working 6 day work weeks for about 6 months. Having had a total of 4 days off in april; and 6 days off in may. I feel fatigue was a contributing factor in this error. I had contemplated calling in sick when I got up that morning; however; my fear of retaliation from my employer; the FAA; caused me to overrule my judgement and report to work.

Title: MKE TRACON CTLR EXPERIENCED OPERROR AT 7800 FT; APPROVING NON STANDARD OPS AND MISJUDGING CLIMB PERFORMANCE; LISTING FATIGUE AS CONTRIBUTORY.
Narrative: WHILE WORKING A COMBINED RADAR POS AT MILWAUKEE APCH; I LOST SEPARATION BTWN ACR X (AN OVERFLT) TO CHICAGO ORD ARPT; AND ACFT Y (A C411) INBOUND TO WAUKEGAN (UGN) ARPT. I APPROVED ACR Y ON A NONSTANDARD ROUTING TO EXPEDITE THE FLT. THIS CAUSED ME TO DSND THIS ACFT EARLY TO EXPEDITE THE CLB OF AN ACFT DEPARTING MKE. THIS ACTION CAUSED THE ACFT TO LATER BE IN CLOSE PROX TO THE OTHER ACFT; ACFT Y. I HAVE BEEN WORKING 6 DAY WORK WKS FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. HAVING HAD A TOTAL OF 4 DAYS OFF IN APRIL; AND 6 DAYS OFF IN MAY. I FEEL FATIGUE WAS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR IN THIS ERROR. I HAD CONTEMPLATED CALLING IN SICK WHEN I GOT UP THAT MORNING; HOWEVER; MY FEAR OF RETALIATION FROM MY EMPLOYER; THE FAA; CAUSED ME TO OVERRULE MY JUDGEMENT AND RPT TO WORK.
