Narrative:
During the terminating checklist; I inadvertently switched off the battery master instead of the APU generator at the APU generator/external power item. Realizing my mistake; I then switched off the APU generator. I then turned the battery master back on. I heard a sound similar to the one made by the nose doors when pump 3A is turned on; and attributed it to the electrical/hydraulic switching. During his postflt; the first officer found the air driven generator deployed. I attribute this to my inadvertent deviation from the checklist. No one was hurt. I can prevent this sort of problem by slowing down and verifying each switch twice before moving it.
