Narrative:
Immediately after takeoff flight attendants notified us of smoke and fumes in the cabin. We immediately declared an emergency; did the red box items and emergency checklist. The smoke and fumes dissipated and we returned to ZZZ. Aarf was requested before landing. We then taxied to the gate without incident after the flight attendants said the cabin was clear of smoke and fumes.

Title: A MD80 FLT ATTENDANT CREW NOTIFIED THE PILOTS OF SMOKE AND FUMES IN THE CABIN IMMEDIATELY AFTER TKOF. AN EMER WAS DECLARED WITH A RETURN TO LAND.
Narrative: IMMEDIATELY AFTER TKOF FLT ATTENDANTS NOTIFIED US OF SMOKE AND FUMES IN THE CABIN. WE IMMEDIATELY DECLARED AN EMER; DID THE RED BOX ITEMS AND EMER CHKLIST. THE SMOKE AND FUMES DISSIPATED AND WE RETURNED TO ZZZ. AARF WAS REQUESTED BEFORE LNDG. WE THEN TAXIED TO THE GATE WITHOUT INCIDENT AFTER THE FLT ATTENDANTS SAID THE CABIN WAS CLR OF SMOKE AND FUMES.
