Narrative:
After a 2 hour WX delay we were ready to go and received the cabin ready report and the jetbridge was pulled. While waiting for a push crew for about 10-15 mins the gate agent brought the bridge back to the aircraft twice unsolicited. Once to deliver service items and once to load more passenger. Shortly thereafter I got a call from the back about a water leak in the aft galley and we called maintenance. I summoned the gate agent and also had the first officer call ramp and cancel our request for push. We had not yet released the brakes; neither the first officer nor myself made a PA to prepare for arrival. While maintenance was working on the leak we asked for a cabin cleaner to mop the floor. The cabin cleaner arrived and subsequently opened door 4L and deployed the evacuate/evacuation slide. Distraction by talking to the crew in the back about the problem; calling maintenance; calling ramp to cancel the push and calling for cabin service.
