Narrative:
All reading lights went out. 3 or 4 mins later came back on. Interphone rang with 4 chimes. First officer reported problem with l-hand engine. I went to first class galley to get more information. The purser advised all of the crew that we would be preparing for a planned emergency landing. We retrieved our manuals and began to go through the checklist. We prepared our passenger and the cabin and landed approximately 10 mins later with no evacuate/evacuation.
