Narrative:
I was working as a relief pilot on a B767 flight from ZZZ1 to ZZZ2 when we had an aileron lockout annunciator light. Upon landing the captain wrote the item up and informed our in-flight mechanic of the item and write-up. Next day we were doing the return flight to ZZZ1 when I reviewed the logbook. Upon review I noticed that the numbers on the dmi sticker did not match the write-up in the logbook. After asking the captain to look at the write-up he also noticed that the mechanic had afterwards added other comments to his original write-up. He then called the mechanic to the flight deck. The mechanic denied everything saying maintenance control had told him the way to fill out the logbook and which items he was to do for the MEL. After questioning it was established that this mechanic had not done any of the maintenance items called for in the MEL. Upon landing the company was notified and contract maintenance was hired to accomplish the original MEL items called for and the aircraft was then returned to service.
