Narrative:

I do realize I installed incorrect brake assemblies on aircraft X. I now understand that I should not have cleared force parts change screen. After being made aware of incorrect brake assembly change; I have reviewed B737-700/800/900 on brake installation per amm 32-41-41-460-801. I also reviewed gmm on technician's responsibility as well as ipc training and I also understand the responsibility of parts change. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated the B737-700 brake assembly has only 4-ROTORS and 4-STATORS as compared to the B737-800 which requires brakes with 5-ROTORS and 5 stators. They are all carbon fiber material. Reporter stated the -700 and -800's main landing gear axle brake mounting flange will accept either type of brake assembly. Main gear tire/wheel assemblies can also be mounted to the two different type of brakes.
