Narrative:
Aircraft X; a B767-300 was in ZZZ on jul/08 for a daily check. And during the visit I found the left nose tire to be out of limits. The tire was replaced and I confirmed that the wheel spacer was installed. I felt very confident with this task because I have changed tires several times before. I had the maintenance manual in front of me; but mainly to check the torque of the axle nut. To the best of my knowledge; all the parts were installed on the aircraft before it left. On jul/08; the aircraft landed in ZZZZ. The mechanic found on the walkaround that the wheel/washer was missing. According to the part numbers that were ordered at ZZZZ on jul/08; they replaced an axle washer and a nose tire. Our carrier has had problems in the past with the wheel spacer being left off. 2 other mechanics that helped me also saw that the spacer was installed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated the nose axle on the B767-300 with the missing wheel washer has external threads on the axle. Reporter stated he believes there are more threads exposed on the axle when the outboard wheel washer is not installed. Otherwise; only a couple of threads should be exposed. He has learned this since being informed of the missing wheel washer. The two small locking bolts and nuts that secure the axle nut were installed without any problem; even though the wheel washer was missing.

Title: A MECHANIC IS INFORMED A WHEEL WASHER WAS MISSING FROM THE NOSE LNDG GEAR LEFT AXLE TIRE INSTALLATION ON A B767-300 HE REPLACED EARLIER.
Narrative: ACFT X; A B767-300 WAS IN ZZZ ON JUL/08 FOR A DAILY CHK. AND DURING THE VISIT I FOUND THE L NOSE TIRE TO BE OUT OF LIMITS. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED AND I CONFIRMED THAT THE WHEEL SPACER WAS INSTALLED. I FELT VERY CONFIDENT WITH THIS TASK BECAUSE I HAVE CHANGED TIRES SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE. I HAD THE MAINT MANUAL IN FRONT OF ME; BUT MAINLY TO CHK THE TORQUE OF THE AXLE NUT. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE; ALL THE PARTS WERE INSTALLED ON THE ACFT BEFORE IT LEFT. ON JUL/08; THE ACFT LANDED IN ZZZZ. THE MECH FOUND ON THE WALKAROUND THAT THE WHEEL/WASHER WAS MISSING. ACCORDING TO THE PART NUMBERS THAT WERE ORDERED AT ZZZZ ON JUL/08; THEY REPLACED AN AXLE WASHER AND A NOSE TIRE. OUR CARRIER HAS HAD PROBS IN THE PAST WITH THE WHEEL SPACER BEING LEFT OFF. 2 OTHER MECHS THAT HELPED ME ALSO SAW THAT THE SPACER WAS INSTALLED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: REPORTER STATED THE NOSE AXLE ON THE B767-300 WITH THE MISSING WHEEL WASHER HAS EXTERNAL THREADS ON THE AXLE.
