Narrative:
Returned to ZZZ at XA00L from ZZZZ. This day marked my 6TH consecutive day on duty and I was due for a 7 day break/duty free period tomorrow. Upon return home I realized crew schedules had planned my 7 day break to begin immediately following my debrief time. My required day off tomorrow now ran from XA00L today to XA00L tomorrow. When I questioned the timing I was informed by the senior on duty that it was perfectly legal. I pointed out that legally aside it didn't meet the requirement of a day off from scheduled work since I had already worked 8.5 hours today. I was informed that manning is tight and they had to do this to keep me legal for flying tomorrow. My point exactly. I shouldn't be flying tomorrow; it should be a rest day as per the far's. By their reasoning; I could fly a 3 day europe trip tomorrow; and effectively work 10 days in a row. This practice is dangerous; and I question the legality. It needs to be addressed.
