Narrative:
I did not safety wire the moisture traps on the left and right engines as per the work card. An auditor spotted the wrong practice but did not inform me that it was wrong until I was written up for non-compliance. He knowingly allowed the aircraft to depart without being corrected. I just received a letter concerning this. I would have liked to be told at the time of the findings that it was done incorrectly so I could have corrected the matter right there and then; but he chose to let the aircraft fly without it being corrected. I would like to know why he allowed the aircraft to leave knowing it was wrong for that aircraft to fly and have the matter corrected that same day.
