Narrative:
I was working #2 engine on aircraft at which time lead mechanic XXXX instructed me to loosen the r-hand/outboard oil supply line to ensure the last chance filter was installed. I loosened 2 bolts; verified installation of oil filter; then reinstall and torque bolts 85-105 inch/pounds per MT77-022-page 3. The #2 engine was then dry motored and checks made to verify no leaks on the oil supply line. In future; accomplish no work whatsoever without proper paperwork -- big or small. Supplemental information from acn 801747: a mechanic who was off for the day called in to me. He conveyed to me that he might have left out the last chance filter on the #5 bearing oil pressure line. After talking to him I had another mechanic check for it. He verified it was there. The issue is that I had no paperwork to check this item. The plane was getting ready to be released soon. Don't take short cuts. Document all work for a good paper trail of all work completed and by whom.
