Narrative:

We were climbing out of mco. We were in mia center control climbing out of FL228 for FL230 assigned. We were watching traffic at 1 O'clock on climb out moving from our right to left and it looked to be at FL240. As the distance to the other aircraft got to be about 5 mi horizontal we became aware of a conflict. At this time the center controller told us to descended to FL220. An immediate descent was made to FL220. We passed about 600' below a black military spc aircraft being vectored to patrick AFB. We estimate about 1/2 mi sep. The controller never called traffic out to us and never gave an immediate type descent. A quick descent was made but not a violent evasive type action.
