Narrative:
While taxiing for takeoff at lbf flight crew decided to takeoff runway 35 due to winds. Performance numbers were obtained and the runway was confirmed suitable for takeoff based on conditions. The commercial airport diagram was referenced for taxi to runway 35. It showed taxiway a as a suitable taxiway to the departure end of runway 35. Upon approaching the taxiway the crew noticed that there was an 'X' on the pavement at the beginning of the taxiway. Available NOTAMS were referenced and no NOTAMS showed the taxiway closed. The crew assumed the 'X' indicated there was no longer a runway because the airport looked to have once had a runway in the direction of the taxiway. After starting to taxi on 'a' taxiway; unicom called and informed the crew of the closure.supplemental information from acn 806636: we continued on the taxiway and airport operations notified the taxiway was closed but should be able to continue. The taxiway had small potholes but was okay to taxi on. Contributing factors: last leg of two 3-DAY trips in a row. Both crew were tired; had been up since early their domicile time for the flight duty and wanted to go home. No NOTAM in release. It was discovered by the airport operations notifying the crew. Corrective actions: if in doubt; ask. And 'X' means closed; for txwys; too. Fatigue and get homeitis were two major human factors.

Title: FLT CREW REPORTS TAXIING ON CLOSED TXWY A AT LBF. CLOSURE IS INDICATED ONLY BY WHITE PAINTED X.
Narrative: WHILE TAXIING FOR TKOF AT LBF FLT CREW DECIDED TO TKOF RWY 35 DUE TO WINDS. PERFORMANCE NUMBERS WERE OBTAINED AND THE RWY WAS CONFIRMED SUITABLE FOR TKOF BASED ON CONDITIONS. THE COMMERCIAL ARPT DIAGRAM WAS REFERENCED FOR TAXI TO RWY 35. IT SHOWED TXWY A AS A SUITABLE TXWY TO THE DEP END OF RWY 35. UPON APCHING THE TXWY THE CREW NOTICED THAT THERE WAS AN 'X' ON THE PAVEMENT AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TXWY. AVAILABLE NOTAMS WERE REFERENCED AND NO NOTAMS SHOWED THE TXWY CLOSED. THE CREW ASSUMED THE 'X' INDICATED THERE WAS NO LONGER A RWY BECAUSE THE ARPT LOOKED TO HAVE ONCE HAD A RWY IN THE DIRECTION OF THE TXWY. AFTER STARTING TO TAXI ON 'A' TXWY; UNICOM CALLED AND INFORMED THE CREW OF THE CLOSURE.SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 806636: WE CONTINUED ON THE TXWY AND ARPT OPS NOTIFIED THE TXWY WAS CLOSED BUT SHOULD BE ABLE TO CONTINUE. THE TXWY HAD SMALL POTHOLES BUT WAS OKAY TO TAXI ON. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: LAST LEG OF TWO 3-DAY TRIPS IN A ROW. BOTH CREW WERE TIRED; HAD BEEN UP SINCE EARLY THEIR DOMICILE TIME FOR THE FLT DUTY AND WANTED TO GO HOME. NO NOTAM IN RELEASE. IT WAS DISCOVERED BY THE ARPT OPS NOTIFYING THE CREW. CORRECTIVE ACTIONS: IF IN DOUBT; ASK. AND 'X' MEANS CLOSED; FOR TXWYS; TOO. FATIGUE AND GET HOMEITIS WERE TWO MAJOR HUMAN FACTORS.
