Narrative:
First officer received full route clearance. Thought it was identical to as filed clearance and had a long discussion with ATC about the fact that it was indeed just like the 'as filed' flight plan. ATC agreed which muddied the waters a bit. Entered as filed clearance as flight plan. Both plans were nearly identical. ATC caught slight deviation when we left zuucs intersection as we should have been slightly more west of course. We returned to correct flight plan by heading a little more west. I called ATC on arrival (my request to contact them) and they said no harm done; forget about it. The only way to have caught this one would have been to review line by line the flight plan in box to catch the fact that the 2 intersecting radials given by ATC in full route clearance did indeed not identify intersection zuucs. On plan view when I reviewed flight plan the 2 flight plans were almost identical; the full route we should have been on only slightly more west than the as filed that was mistakenly entered into the box.

Title: EMB175 FLT CREW HAS TRACK DEV BELIEVING REVISED ROUTING VIA TWO RADIALS IS THE SAME AS VIA INTERSECTION ZUUCS IN THE FILED FLIGHT PLAN. IT IS NOT.
Narrative: FO RECEIVED FULL RTE CLRNC. THOUGHT IT WAS IDENTICAL TO AS FILED CLRNC AND HAD A LONG DISCUSSION WITH ATC ABOUT THE FACT THAT IT WAS INDEED JUST LIKE THE 'AS FILED' FLT PLAN. ATC AGREED WHICH MUDDIED THE WATERS A BIT. ENTERED AS FILED CLRNC AS FLT PLAN. BOTH PLANS WERE NEARLY IDENTICAL. ATC CAUGHT SLIGHT DEV WHEN WE LEFT ZUUCS INTXN AS WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SLIGHTLY MORE W OF COURSE. WE RETURNED TO CORRECT FLT PLAN BY HDG A LITTLE MORE W. I CALLED ATC ON ARR (MY REQUEST TO CONTACT THEM) AND THEY SAID NO HARM DONE; FORGET ABOUT IT. THE ONLY WAY TO HAVE CAUGHT THIS ONE WOULD HAVE BEEN TO REVIEW LINE BY LINE THE FLT PLAN IN BOX TO CATCH THE FACT THAT THE 2 INTERSECTING RADIALS GIVEN BY ATC IN FULL RTE CLRNC DID INDEED NOT IDENT INTXN ZUUCS. ON PLAN VIEW WHEN I REVIEWED FLT PLAN THE 2 FLT PLANS WERE ALMOST IDENTICAL; THE FULL RTE WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON ONLY SLIGHTLY MORE W THAN THE AS FILED THAT WAS MISTAKENLY ENTERED INTO THE BOX.
