Narrative:
After a normal touchdown during a wheel landing; I started lowering the tail of the aircraft. The right wing started rising. I applied full aileron to the right; in an attempt to level the wings. The left wingtip struck the ground lightly before the wings leveled. I also applied full power to straighten the aircraft. The aircraft slid to the right side of the runway; before I was able to regain full control. I continued the takeoff; but returned immediately; in order to inspect the aircraft for damage. I discovered a scrape on the left wingtip and small dents in the center flap. I deemed the aircraft to be airworthy for the short flight to ZZZ. I completed the flight to ZZZ with no problems. Unknown to me the aircraft had struck a turnoff sign and several runway lights during the landing attempt. Several days later the airport manager informed me of the damage I had caused. I believe the problem was caused by gyroscopic action of the propeller; as the tail was lowered to the runway; possibly combined with a crosswind gust.

Title: SNJ-6 PILOT MOMENTARILY LOST CONTROL WHILE LANDING; STRUCK THE GROUND WITH A WINGTIP; AND THEN STRUCK A TURNOFF SIGN AND SOME RUNWAY LIGHTS.
Narrative: AFTER A NORMAL TOUCHDOWN DURING A WHEEL LNDG; I STARTED LOWERING THE TAIL OF THE ACFT. THE R WING STARTED RISING. I APPLIED FULL AILERON TO THE R; IN AN ATTEMPT TO LEVEL THE WINGS. THE L WINGTIP STRUCK THE GND LIGHTLY BEFORE THE WINGS LEVELED. I ALSO APPLIED FULL PWR TO STRAIGHTEN THE ACFT. THE ACFT SLID TO THE R SIDE OF THE RWY; BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN FULL CTL. I CONTINUED THE TKOF; BUT RETURNED IMMEDIATELY; IN ORDER TO INSPECT THE ACFT FOR DAMAGE. I DISCOVERED A SCRAPE ON THE L WINGTIP AND SMALL DENTS IN THE CTR FLAP. I DEEMED THE ACFT TO BE AIRWORTHY FOR THE SHORT FLT TO ZZZ. I COMPLETED THE FLT TO ZZZ WITH NO PROBS. UNKNOWN TO ME THE ACFT HAD STRUCK A TURNOFF SIGN AND SEVERAL RWY LIGHTS DURING THE LNDG ATTEMPT. SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE ARPT MGR INFORMED ME OF THE DAMAGE I HAD CAUSED. I BELIEVE THE PROB WAS CAUSED BY GYROSCOPIC ACTION OF THE PROP; AS THE TAIL WAS LOWERED TO THE RWY; POSSIBLY COMBINED WITH A XWIND GUST.
