Narrative:
Shortly before departure; ground maintenance personnel advised that a cargo net was apparently missing from forward cargo compartment. After a brief discussion; and subsequently while in process of researching matter further; pushback crew advised that cargo nets were now secured in place -- cargo doors closed -- and they were ready for pushback. This additional information led me to believe that cargo net issue had been successfully resolved. Possible miscommunication regarding status of forward cargo net in question. There was no mention of any missing cargo net on previous flight.
