Narrative:
Departing teb on the teb 5 departure requires 1500 ft and then a turn. After 4.5 DME off of teb VOR then a climb to 2000 ft. Approaching 1500 ft we got a TCAS traffic advisory. I looked at the information on the mfd display and saw the aircraft at 1500 ft above us. I asked the pilot not flying to set the new course since we were approaching 1500 ft MSL. I started the turn but inadvertently climbed to 1800 ft prior to recovering to the appropriate altitude of 1500 ft MSL. My attention was distracted during the TA callout and did not level off at the appropriate altitude. Probably using the autopilot earlier would have allowed me to address the TA callout without climbing past my assigned altitude.

Title: CE560XL DEPARTING TEB RECEIVES TCAS TA AT 1500 FT ON TEB5 DEPARTURE AND TURNS EARLY TO 280 DEGREE HEADING. TCAS DISTRACTION CAUSES ALTITUDE OVERSHOOT TO 1800 FT.
