On approach to sea runway 16 left with autopilot engaged at approximately 700 ft AGL aircraft nosed down abruptly. Had to disconnect autopilot to regain control due to glide slope excursion. WX was 3000 ft overcast. Protect glide slope critical areas.

Title: AN AIR CARRIER PILOT REPORTS EXCESSIVE GLIDE SLOPE FLUCTUATIONS AT 700 FT WHILE FLYING A COUPLED ILS TO SEA RUNWAY 16L.
Narrative: ON APPROACH TO SEA RWY 16 LEFT WITH AUTOPILOT ENGAGED AT APPROX 700 FT AGL AIRCRAFT NOSED DOWN ABRUPTLY. HAD TO DISCONNECT AUTOPILOT TO REGAIN CONTROL DUE TO GLIDE SLOPE EXCURSION. WX WAS 3000 FT OVERCAST. PROTECT GLIDE SLOPE CRITICAL AREAS.
