Narrative:
Half way through deicing; the boom of the deice truck made contact with the left horizontal stabilizer of our aircraft. We felt a light bump. No one was injured. The aircraft behind us verified that we had been hit by the boom and then the deice operator admitted to hitting us. We felt our aircraft get hit and then had 2 supportive reports to the fact. I made an announcement to our flight attendant and to our passengers and told them what had happened. We then determined that it was safe to go back to the gate where we deplaned the passengers and met with maintenance. The deice truck got too close to our aircraft. Deicer may need additional training.
