Anomaly | Ground Event / Encounter FOD |
Narrative:
After receiving takeoff clearance; I advanced the power to 1.10 EPR. An aircraft; which had just landed on runway 28R; announced on rollout that there were large amounts of FOD on runway 28R. Since our departure runway (runway 1R) intersects runway 28R; I performed a low-speed abort (30 KTS?). Reason for the abort: concern of encountering FOD on the takeoff roll. The first officer then advised tower we had aborted the takeoff and needed more information regarding the FOD on runway 28R (i.e. Intersecting our takeoff runway; runway 1R). The last aircraft we saw depart runway 28R was a B747-400.
