Narrative:
After reaching cruise; flight attendants advised flight crew they inadvertently discovered there were fams on board. A breakdown in communication caused flight to depart without any working crew member aware that fams were on board the aircraft. The new boarding procedure leaves a lot of room for error. We should consider returning to the previous procedure of having a lead fam make contact with the captain.

Title: An A319 pilot reported he was notified after departure by a Flight Attendant that there were FAMs on board that they were unaware of.
Narrative: After reaching cruise; Flight Attendants advised flight crew they inadvertently discovered there were FAMs on board. A breakdown in communication caused flight to depart without any working crew member aware that FAMs were on board the aircraft. The new boarding procedure leaves a lot of room for error.
