Narrative:

Flight attendants called at cruise and informed the cockpit that they had just noticed a prisoner and 3 escorts were boarded; which is not in accordance with fom guidance. There was also no cockpit notification of a prisoner boarded. No one was armed. Escorts and prisoner were enroute from ZZZ to ZZZ1 via ZZZ2. Boarding passes seemed to have been issued in ZZZ. Escorts stated that they informed the agent in ZZZ that they needed to be in the last row of the aircraft; and they were told these were the only seats available for them to sit together. ZZZ2 and ZZZ1 stations were notified of the improper boarding.
