Narrative:
Aircraft #1 was westbound FL300; aircraft #2 northeastbound at FL310 given descent to FL240 crossing sector boundary about 20 miles southeast pxv VORTAC. Aircraft had mode C swap with another aircraft at FL290 over pxv. Immediately after; conflict alert went off between aircraft #1 and aircraft #2 and my trainer took over frequencies and put on headings.
