Narrative:
After normal approach and landing on runway 2; the aircraft was slowed to less than 5 mph before turning off the runway onto the taxiway. While on taxiway B; the aircraft began to slide to the left. Full braking was then applied but the aircraft continued to slide. Reverse thrust was used to stop the aircraft and keep it on the taxiway. Once the aircraft came to a complete stop on the taxiway; I determined it unsafe to move the aircraft under its own power. We then notified tower that the taxiway was completely iced over with no braking and we did not want to continue taxiing. Reports by airport ground personnel stated the aircraft remained on the taxiway. We then called operations and told them we needed to be towed to the gate. Carrier operations personnel notified us that the aircraft was close to the taxiway edge. The first tug pulled the aircraft only a short distance then lost traction. A second larger tug was then able to tow the aircraft safely to the gate. Reports from airport personnel confirmed no damage to airport property. Maintenance personnel stated the aircraft appeared undamaged. During the whole event the passengers; company; flight attendant; and ground control were continuously updated.

Title: EMB145 flight crew reports encountering icy taxiway after landing and is unable to continue. Aircraft is towed to the gate and no damage occurs.
