Narrative:
When I took the handoff on aircraft X; I noticed he was a /U at 3;000 ft requested altitude. I assumed that his filed route from mgm to edn would not enter the protected airspace for the 2;500 ft antenna. I did not realize until after ozr had the handoff that he was near the antenna; at which point I called ozr to advise them of the situation.

Title: MGM Controller described operational error when realizing IFR traffic that had been handed off was about to enter MVA below required altitude; coordination was too late to secure needed separation.
Narrative: When I took the handoff on Aircraft X; I noticed he was a /U at 3;000 FT requested altitude. I assumed that his filed route from MGM to EDN would not enter the protected airspace for the 2;500 FT antenna. I did not realize until after OZR had the handoff that he was near the antenna; at which point I called OZR to advise them of the situation.
