Narrative:
I am a pilot. On feb/09 I test flew and ferried (1.4 hours) a bell 206 from ZZZ following a main transmission change. After the flight; I was informed that the transmission installed had not been registered. The aircraft was flown 3 times afterward by other pilots until error was found. Following discovery of the error the aircraft was grounded and new transmission installed.
