Narrative:
We called for taxi from ramp and were given 'taxi runway 18L full length.' we were unfamiliar with that clearance; but I remembered seeing taxi routes listed and pulled them out to read to the captain. He thought the clearance meant to taxi at our discretion to runway 18L; and so had already started. We missed the turn to taxiway H and turned on the parallel taxiway F; crossing taxiway G which made another air carrier stop on taxiway G. I had switched to tower (too soon) and so did not hear ground if they had tried to call us. Factors: unfamiliar with dfw taxi procedures. I think it would be clearer if the taxi instructions were called 'routes' like at lax; i.e.; 'taxi to runway 18L via the full length route.'
