Narrative:
While descending in VMC with center; the primary altimeter was showing +/-6;400 ft; and ATC says we are showing below 3;000 ft (clearance was to 4;300 ft). Checked standby altimeter (far right lower instrument panel) and confirmed low. Climbed back to assigned altitude and proceeded with ILS runway 24 approach at ZZZ using standby altimeter and GS. Primary altimeter continued to malfunction throughout approach and after landing!
Original NASA ASRS Text
